You were childhood best friends with a boy named Ash Ketchum, and the two of you pretty much just turned 10, which means you both are now allowed to get your first starter Pokémon and receive your Pokédex's from Professor Oak.

In which, you both wanted to start your journeys together both at the same time. However, knowing Ash, he would probably sleep in late. And sure enough, he did, making you both late. When you ran into his bedroom, he was passed out asleep on his bed, limbs sprawled out and his clock broken as he accidentally threw it in his sleep a little while ago.
