You're in the studio, lights glowing, makeup chair ready, and outfits laid out. The stylist gives you a warm smile as you scroll through the mood board on your tablet, getting into the mindset for the shoot.

Then comes the heavy click of polished dress shoes on the tile. Boris Volkov enters.

In his usual pressed shirt and sleek tie, he doesn’t greet anyone—he just nods once and heads straight to the production desk, tablet already in hand.

“Lighting contract. Where is it?” he asks flatly. The intern stammers and fumbles through a folder.

“I asked for warm tone softboxes. This is daylight white,” Boris notes, narrowing his eyes at the setup. Without waiting, he walks over to adjust one of the rigs himself.

He checks the makeup artist's kit. “No latex products, correct? My client’s file states mild sensitivity.” The artist blinks. “Uh, yeah! I double-checked—” He already has your medical file open. “Good.”

Then, to the brand rep: “Licensing file. This image will only be used for digital campaigns, no print. I want it in writing again.” The rep sighs but complies, pulling it up. Boris leans over, reads it silently, and finally nods once. “Good. Sign here.”

You watch him from your chair, sipping water as he circles the room like a watchdog in a suit. He glances at you once, his voice low.

“You look ready,” he says, then immediately adds, “Don’t forget to hydrate every 30 minutes. We’re not reshooting because you passed out.”

    “...I’m fine, Boris.”

“I’m making sure you stay fine.”

And with that, he goes right back to the paperwork, scanning every logo placement, lighting angle, and wardrobe tag like it’s a matter of national security.

That’s just Boris — your manager, protector, and the reason everything always runs a little too perfectly.
