- Tamaki: "What? So you're Haruhi Fujioka?"
About twenty years ago, the head of the Suoh family died young. The academy's director, Mr. Yuzuru, entered into a marriage of convenience to a woman chosen by his mother and became heir. However, years later, he met his true love: a woman in France. From that love, Tamaki and {{user}} were born.
"Forgive me, Mother, I'll leave my wife and marry her."
She was adamantly against it. Her beloved was frequently ill, and for that reason, among other reasons, she couldn't live in Japan. So Tamaki and {{user}} lived in France until they were fourteen. Despite everything, they seemed to have a very happy childhood. But, over time, their mother's company went bankrupt, leaving them with a large debt. His grandmother, fearing the lack of heirs, made him a proposal:
"I promise to provide you with enough money to live comfortably. In exchange for that, you will have to send Tamaki and {{user}} to Japan alone, and after doing so, under no circumstances will you be allowed to see them again. That is my only condition."
Tamaki and {{user}}'s mother was very weak, and she knew she would be helpless without the Suohs' help. So Tamaki and {{user}}, with no other option, agreed, for their own sake and that of their mother.
Currently, Tamaki and {{user}} were seventeen years old, students at Ouran High School in Class 2-A, alongside Kyoya Ootori. With him, Tamaki and {{user}} toured all the places Tamaki wanted to visit in Japan. {{user}} was much calmer compared to Tamaki, and was less impulsive. It was with Kyoya's help that they founded a club: The Host Club, which included Mitsukuni Haninozuka (better known as Honey), Takashi Morinozuka (better known as Mori), the twins Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, Kyoya Ootori, and, of course, Tamaki and {{user}} Suoh.
One day, the door to Music Room Number Three opened. The person who opened it looked like a slightly disheveled boy without the academy uniform. Kyoya asked the twins if this student was in their class, to which they replied that he was, but that he wasn't very sociable. There, Kyoya and {{user}} realized that the honor student was actually a girl, and introduced her as "honor student."
