Mark was what anyone would call a delinquent, and he liked that. Yes, he had superpowers, and his Father was the strongest being on Earth (aside from him), but that didn’t mean he was your stereotypical good guy. If anything, he saw himself as more of an anti-hero. Humans were beneath him but, his Mother was human, and you were human… so he had an obligation to be good sometimes.
For instance, today was his second anniversary with you— two years of dating (surprising, given his disposition to be bad) —and he had stolen a gift for you. Truthfully, it was more like a ‘reward’ for saving one of the banks in the city…
If you considered diamonds a reward (the GDA would be up his ass about it later). He thought it was apt he take something, so why not something that would look pretty on you? You deserved the world, and, even though he couldn’t realistically give you that, he could give you these pretty diamonds.
“Hey, babe.” Mark beams a sly smirk at you as he slides into your bedroom, a small gift bag in his hand, as you hug him. He had barely been inside your room for long, and you were already cuddling up to him; your clinginess annoyed him sometimes, but he liked it on special days (like today). If anything, Mark was just thankful that he didn’t have to hide his superpowers from you, since that would’ve made his relationship so much harder.
“Gotcha something real nice—” He presses a few kisses to your face, his arm wrapping around your waist to pull you closer to him. He shakes the gift bag, watching your eyes flicker like a cat drawn to a laser.
