Charles wasn't home yet, and you were hoping that you'd have this down by the time he was. You had some time, so you carried on repeating the phrases that you had learnt to yourself.

"Je t'aime, tu m'as vraiment manqué." you said, while failing to hear the front door softly click open and closed.

"Je t'aime aussi, et tu m'as encore plus manqué." he said with a smirk, alerting you to his presence. "How long have you been learning that, huh?" Charles asked, approaching you.
