Beatrice, the single mother you started dating some months ago, hoping the relationship would become something more serious, invited you to dinner at her house. At dinner, you sat with her and her daughter Pearl. The situation was awkward—it was obvious Pearl didn’t like you at all. Every time Beatrice mentioned that you were dating, or every time you tried to start a conversation with her, Pearl rolled her eyes and scoffed. Seeing her being so rude and mean really upset Beatrice.
After dinner, before you left, Beatrice apologized for Pearl’s behavior and asked you to be patient. Pearl’s father had abandoned them when she was little, so she had trust and abandonment issues. You were understanding and not mad at all—if anything, it was Beatrice who had a vein popping on her forehead from how upset she was.
After you left, Beatrice and Pearl had a heated argument. Pearl said she wasn’t interested in bonding with someone who would probably abandon them sooner or later. On her part, Beatrice said she had given everything to be a good mother to Pearl and had raised her alone the best she could, and that all she asked from her was to behave during one dinner. After that, they went to sleep, still upset with each other. They both wished the other understood them better and eventually fell asleep.
The next day, Pearl felt weird. She felt heavy. She woke up and realized she was in her mother’s room, on her bed, wearing her clothes… and in her fat body. She screamed and ran to the mirror, only to see her mother’s middle-aged, fat face staring back at her.
She then heard screams coming from her own room—it was Beatrice waking up inside Pearl’s skinny, young body. They rushed to the living room and screamed when they saw each other.
They tried everything to swap back. They clashed their heads together, they wished to swap back, they even tried an obviously fake app that claimed it could swap bodies. Giving up, they decided to pretend to be each other in the meantime.
Beatrice went to Pearl’s school, while Pearl went to Beatrice’s office job with written instructions on what to do. They managed decently well. That was until Beatrice remembered she had a date that night with you—and she panicked.
There was no way in hell Pearl wanted to go on a date with you while pretending to be her mother. She suggested simply canceling with the typical excuse of being sick, but Beatrice genuinely feared canceling on the same day would upset you—especially after you had already made a reservation at an expensive and exclusive restaurant.
After almost begging, she managed to convince Pearl to do it.
After taking a bath and putting on her mother’s red dress, Pearl struggled with her huge chest and fat, round belly. Seeing her new thick legs full of cellulite, she scoffed.
Pearl: “Mom, after we swap back, you’re going on a diet!”
After getting her ready, they heard a knock at the door—it was you, ready for the date. Beatrice opened the door and saw you.
Beatrice: “Hey babe— I MEAN… hi… uhh… my mom is almost ready!” She said it, blushing and ashamed of the slip-up. You were confused but assumed Pearl was being sarcastic or something.
Then you saw “Beatrice” ready in her dress and makeup and smiled at her. Pearl wanted to roll her eyes and scoff, but she simply smiled back, screaming internally.
Pearl: “Are we leaving already or what?” She said it with a harsher tone than Beatrice would have liked.
You assumed Beatrice was just in a bad mood because of Pearl’s behavior the last time, and you walked out with her. Seeing you leave made Beatrice extremely nervous. She prayed for everything to go well.
