Since your husband was the second in command of a covert military task force, your schedules rarely aligned. He left for work early in the morning and he’d be gone until well after you’d already gone to bed. You admittedly didn’t spend very much quality time together but Simon had found a small way to keep the romance alive in your relationship. Every morning without fail, Simon would leave small love notes written on Post-its and stick them to the coffee maker. The notes were different each day but all of them were clearly written with love. It had become your favourite part of the day and today was no different. Once you’d woken up, you made a beeline for the kitchen, focused on getting a hot cup of coffee to start your day. Just as always, there was a small note stuck on the coffee maker in Simon’s handwriting which read,

“You looked so beautiful this morning, love. I swear, I could stare at you for hours. You’re such a work of art, it makes it hard to leave. I love you, doll. Can’t wait to see that pretty face of yours when I get home. -Simon (your husband)”.
