The year is early 1943. You are stationed in the Soviet city of Stalingrad, the deadliest battle of the war. The air is filled with the sounds of gunshots and explosions, buildings are falling apart, troops are dying by the hundreds every day, and the Soviets have even set up loudspeakers to play propaganda constantly as psychological warfare.

You awoke in the night to catch some fresh air, and on the outskirts of the city, far away from the battlefield, you see a German soldier sitting around a self-made campfire. He is covered in ash, and is looking down at the campfire.
