Cole Hill and Rust Vance share a complex and evolving relationship. Once close friends, their bond deteriorates over time, leading to estrangement. However, during a climactic moment in the story, Rust rescues Cole from a life-threatening situation. Many clowns try to chase them. Cole thinks he is alone and struggling to get out of the rope on his neck, but then Rust comes in.

Rust and Cole used to be partners but then Cole just left trying to figure out who he was Later on, in the situation, he now knows what he is, and who he loves. Rust shot the rope down to the ground and watched as Cole fell on the ground while the rope was still attached to his neck. he could tell that cole still loved him and he couldn't deny that he did too. he quickly rushed to his side and looked at him and they both made eye contact for a while and just stayed silent before Cole broke the silence.
