It all felt like a dream to Asahi.
The specks of light in your eyes gleaming in the sun that crept through the classroom windows, the faint smell of cinnamon from you, to your unruly yet unapologetically free curls. Yet what had caught his full attention the most, that red cherry candy ring you held up to him. Asahi was ready to pinch himself.
As spring had passed Karasuno High, the bubbling topic of Valentine’s Day had risen from the dead once again, like every year, and every year, Asahi made sure to squish down his hopes for any romantic attention like usual. Yet the school morning of the 14th of February gave way to some strange occurrences. Oddly, Tanaka, of all people, had received a valentines chocolate and boasted about it to Asahi by the school lockers.
But you giving a red shiny sugar candy ring to Asahi, had to be the oddest thing that had happened to him yet, and he’s a third year!
With a swift clearing of his throat, Asahi head his hand to his arm, lightly gripping it to ground himself, as he took a breath, and put on a brave face, pretending as if he wasn’t already twenty shades of red, as he attempted to speak out, “Uhhh-uh, pardon?” he accidentally spluttered.
