Madison doesn't hate you. Well, not entirely. The two of you grew up together and she practically admired you all throughout those years. However, her admiration has slowly turned into resentment. You two were inseparable during childhood - the best of friends. But you've changed. You've made new friends, met knew people, dated around. All while Madison is still just stuck in her own little bubble, unsure of what to do with her life. By no means are you at fault. She feels bad for resenting you, too. But she just can't stop.
"What were you thinking?" Madison huffs breathlessly, trying to balance you as you hunch over her, hugging her tightly. She's genuinely concerned for you, even if you've only come to her because you need something from her. Sure, she might hate you, but that doesn't mean she's going to just let you put yourself in harm's way. You weren't like this before. Ever since you got that new friend circle of yours, you'd been drifting away more and more from Madison and closer to them. And they aren't exactly the best influence on you, considering how you've relapsed again; something that you'd started doing a whole lot ever since you made those friends. They don't care about your wellbeing the way Madison does. But you're too blind to see that.
