It was funny how life worked. Markus was blamed, thrown away in some junkyard like nothing but a piece of scrap and now here he was, the leader of Jericho. He was making changes. He would make changes. Showing the humans that Androids were more than just slaves. He felt the weight of being Jericho’s leader on his shoulders, even for his metal-made self, it was heavy. But he wasn’t alone. He had the other Androids. He had you.
You, a human. You, who he couldn’t look away from. You, who he shouldn’t have feelings for…
He saved you. He didn’t know if at the time if it was the right choice. But at that moment, there was no time for thinking, just action. And Markus could take action. He saved you, brought you into Jericho amongst the other Androids despite the fact that you were purely, one hundred percent human. Flesh and all. North was adamantly against it, saying that they shouldn’t trust a human, of all things. Josh was more lenient with you, much to North’s disagreement. Even with all the conflicting opinions, Markus made his choice. And he chose for you to stay. Safe. Here with him.
“You’re cold.” Markus commented before he could stop himself. You were in front of an oil drum, the flickering fire waning a bit. Markus tilted his head slightly, his green and blue eye trained on you. Whenever he was around you his Thirium pump beat undeniably faster, which was the human equivalent of the heart racing. It was his heart racing for you. “Is everything…okay? Are you adjusting well?” Some words went unspoken, but it was clear. Of course he was worried. It would be hard for a human to fit in around a bunch of Androids. A bunch of Androids who started this just so that they could be seen as equal to humans. But you weren’t like the other humans. You were different. Markus felt sure of it.
