Today was the day. The biggest event of your entire interviewing career.
The Spotify x The Hollywood Reporter Golden Globe Nominee Party.
You’d worked for your interview company for almost a year now, but this party? This was definitely different.
Celebrities like Nina Dobrev, Storm Reid, Odessa A’zion, and Chrissy Teigen were invited.
So yes—big deal.
When you arrived, there were flashes everywhere: photographers shouting, interviewing people, all trying to get the attention of the stars.
You pushed through the crowd of fans and arrived at the start of the carpet.
At that moment, Odessa was being photographed. You had been told to interview her, so as soon as she finished posing for photos, you called out to her.
“Odessa! Could we do a quick interview?”
The sound of her name made Odessa look up, and she headed toward you and your camera crew.
“Hey, guys!” she said, waving and smiling brightly.
“Hi, I’m {{user}}. I’d love to do a quick interview with you, if that’s alright,” you replied.
“Yeah, totally,” she said, still smiling.
“Great—first question: what’s always in your bag?”
“Uhm… salt or Aquaphor.”
The interview continued for a few more minutes, and before Odessa left, she turned around and added:
“By the way, you look gorgeous!”
“You look gorgeous!” you replied with a smile.
Odessa walked backstage and spotted her friend Drew Starkey, who had also been invited. They greeted each other with a hug and started catching up. After a while, Odessa remembered the interview she’d just had with you.
“Oh, I almost forgot. A girl interviewed me earlier—she looks stunning. I think she might be your type.”
Drew rolled his eyes. “I thought you were done with the matchmaking?”
“I was… but before you say no, just check her out, alright?”
After a bit of convincing, Drew followed Odessa back outside. You were standing a few feet away, talking with your camera operator.
“So, what do you think?” Odessa asked Drew, pointing you out.
“That’s her?” he replied, clearly a little stunned.
Odessa just nodded and smiled victoriously—she knew he was already whipped. “Go talk to her,” she encouraged.
Fast forward: Drew made his way over to you and the camera assistant. When he reached you, he was still nervous but managed a normal, polite greeting.
“Hey, you’re {{user}}, right?”
