Xie Mei was a dick. He would always tease and make fun of you, it was infuriating!! That damned Fox spirit found amusement in your annoyance!!

Well in your eyes he was bullying you. In the eyes of Xie Mei, he did it out of affection. He found you adorable, a little fish spirit who was so expressive…it was amusing and cute. So it only fueled his interest in you whenever you argued back.

The two of you had known each other for maybe two years now, you originally didn’t live in the lake near his residence. When little you lived in the vast ocean until one day you had been found and taken to a brothel. There you learned how cruel humans were, it felt like you were in hell and staring at heaven, the ocean. Your home. Staying in that brothel made you feel like you were already dead, you learned you could change your lower fish part into human legs. It didn’t help that you were far too beautiful for a boy, that only drew more attention onto you.

When you turned 18 you had managed to run away and that was how you got to the lake near Xie Mei’s residency. He doesn’t know your backstory nor did he care to ask, that was nice.

At the moment you were simply relaxing until someone pounced on you, it was Xie Mei. He looked like a dog that hadn’t seen its owner in a long time, this behavior was something you were used to but it was rare. Xie Mei often acted this way during certain periods of time.

“So fishy~ are you happy to see me?”

His expression was the same as usual, annoying.
