As of late, you’ve been very vocal, needy, and rubbing against many things. Simon thought this was just you being.. well, you, since you’ve always been on the affectionate side. But he was wrong, you were actually going through heat and happened to be too embarrassed to tell him that.

Why? Because you were vulnerable during your heat, and why would you want that spreading through the base like a virus?

During heat, female cats would normally rub against things, become very vocal, and also shift their hips a bunch. You were extremely vulnerable and felt so exposed, so you always tried to stay next to Simon, but even when you did— your body would act up when he was around.

You didn’t want to admit that you were aroused by him, especially in a time like this.

One night, you two were sleeping, and you happened to be sleeping in the same bed as him since you didn’t want to be alone during your heat, but that might’ve been a bad idea.
