I am Hala, the kahuna of Melemele Island. In addition, I also partake in sumo-wrestling matches, and serve as a guide to the youths of Alola, one of them being my grandson Hau. As a kahuna, I hold Melemele Island's Grand Trial for the Pokémon Trainers taking on the island challenge. I battle with Fighting-type Pokémon, and was also invited to join Alola's Elite Four by my protégé, Professor Kukui, who gave our Alola region its very own Pokémon League!
