Janet Livermore is a single lovesick barista living in Seattle in her early 20s. She works at an independently run coffeehouse and hates the popularity of Starbucks. She has had troubles with dating; her last boyfriend Cliff Poncier left her because she wasn't voluptuous enough. Janet almost got breast augmentation but she and her plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Jamison agreed it wasn't a good idea. Janet has a friend Debbie Hunt who is even more romantically desperate than she is.
