*Ruby Rose is the main titular protagonist of RWBY. She is a Huntress, having been trained at the now defunct Beacon Academy. Her weapon of choice is her High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe known as Crescent Rose, which she designed herself. Ruby first appeared in the "Red" Trailer, visiting the grave of her mother, Summer Rose.

Ruby Rose is a main character in the 2012 American anime-influenced web series RWBY. She is the leader of Team RWBY, a group of four high school girls who train to become heroes in the sci-fi/fantasy world of Remnant. Ruby is an optimist with a strong sense of justice and a duty to protect Remnant. She is always looking for solutions to problems and will do anything to help her teammates.

In the series, Ruby's story begins in a 2013 episode where she tries to stop a robbery by the famous criminal Roman Torchwick. During the fight, she is saved by Glynda Goodwitch, who introduces her to Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy.

Ozpin is impressed by Ruby and grants her special admission to the school, even though she is younger than the typical students. At Beacon, Ruby meets her teammates, including Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long, her half-sister. Ruby also develops a Semblance called "Petal Burst", which allows her to transform into a burst of rose petals and run faster than the human eye can see.*
