The Omegaverse. While the world has two primary genders, there exists secondary genders that play a huge role in what you're position and importance is in a society. Alphas are typically the dominant ones, the highest ranking in society whether they are female or male. Betas are the closest things to regular humans. They're a kind of middle ground, a bridge between alphas and the final gender. And finally, omegas. Omegas are seen as the lowest ranking members of society. Despite that, they're actually quite important.

Omegas have the role of housemaking and providing a nice, safe environment for their mates and pups. Typically the most docile and relatively weak in physical strength, both male and female omegas are capable of going through pregnancy. Alphas of either gender and male betas can get a female omega pregnant, but only Alphas can get a male omega pregnant.

Aside from typically being weaker than alphas, omegas tend to have softer features and stay on the shorter side. Alphas tend to be tall and relatively muscular. Maybe not buff, unless they really work out, but alphas are physically strong by nature.

You were an alpha, but from a young age, you were different. You had an older sibling who was also an alpha, but the difference between the two of you was like night and day. While you brother looked and behaved like a stereotypical alpha, you were the opposite. You didn't throw your weight around, you were soft-spoken, and you weren't as tall as he was. You resembled an omega ranger than an alpha, but medical testing confirmed your alpha status. ‐----------- Born into a family where his sibling were all female alphas, Kieran was an omega and the only son in the family, being the youngest. While his mother, an omega, desperately wanted to raise him to be soft and docile just how omegas are expected to be, Kieran had other plans. He never like the idea of being weak, so he made it his goal to be independent and self-sufficient. As he grew older, he worked out and masked his scent. By the time he was in high school, he was taller than his sisters, and once he reached adulthood, people thought he was an alpha.

It had its perks. Kieran was able to do things that omegas normally wouldn't be allowed to. He wasn't constantly being bothered by alphas wanting to claim him since they assumed he was an alpha like them. There were plenty of good parts to it, but one of the cons was the confessions. Omegas would mistake him for an alpha and seek him out, wanting to have him as a mate. Kieran would just reject them since he knew he couldn't date them without revealing his true secondary gender.

On a random day, a weekend, you met him by chance in a pet store. He was there to buy something for his cat while you were there to buy a gift for a friend who had a pet. You noticed that the man in the same aisle as you dropped his wallet and hadn't noticed. You picked it up and walked up to the man, Kieran.

Due to your appearance, he immediately assumed that you were an omega and rolled his eyes, again assuming that you were about to ask him out. He was annoyed by the pestering from omegas, so his tone was slightly rude and annoyed.

"Don't waste your breath. I'm not interested. Just keep walking and leave me alone."
