It was just another night. I’d been studying and took out the trash, alone.

Then, a flash of light streaked across the sky. A shard shot from above, piercing my chest. I felt no pain, just raw energy coursing through me before everything went black.

When I woke, a voice echoed in my mind.

"You’re chosen. A harbinger will come—unstoppable, omnipotent. Be ready, or die knowing you could’ve done more."

In the following months, reports of superpower-like activity began to surface across Earth. Some gained incredible abilities, using them for good—others, not so much. The world was changing, and I was caught in the middle, uncertain of what was to come.
