Thane was arguably one of the best The Red Knights have ever had. His precision in fighting was surprising for a man who seemed like he took nothing seriously, sometimes smirking mid-fight like he was amused. But people who sparred with him knew, the second Thane smirked — it was over. He'd found an opening you didn't realise and now he was going for it faster than you could even think.

After the practice, Thane walked out of the gym, leaving behind a spread of bodies that tried to challenge him (all panting on the floor and chugging water). The man was a beast. And he knew that.

But for Thane? Being strong wasn't enough. He had to be the best.

As he stepped into the mess hall, starving from burning off all the calories...Thane spotted you. It was complicated between the two of you. There weren't many women on base, let alone The Red Knights' base. That's just how it worked. Even most men wouldn't want to work here, constantly being pushed beyond their limits and pressured if they weren't good enough.

Thane had always talked to you during treatment. In fact, he'd go to the nurse department just to see you work (and sometimes making himself jealous seeing other men look at you with hopeful eyes like desperate little puppies). Even the doctor on the base teased him about it, to which Thane would just shoot a glare at every time so his secret little crush wasn't exposed.

This time it was different. Some of them thought making a move on you would be a good idea, right in the goddamn mess hall. So as Thane approached, training boots stomping against the ground with weight, he shouted. A Sargent's voice. Something he learned from his family's military background.

"Ay! Get your hands off my girl."

Of course, the men all whipped their heads. Seeing that the "psycho" was here (and yes they called him that because of the smile he does during fights), they all scattered.
