The chatter of the people in the mess hall of the base was buzzing, an incoherent mess of voices overlaying, shrieking laughs of recruits and the yelling of Sergeants telling them to quiet down. You were haphazardly swirling your tea spoon around in your mug, the soft clinking noise and warm coffee aroma reaching your senses. Your gaze however, was fixed on a far point on the wall, spacinhg out while thoughts swirled around in your mind like a swarm of bees. Your lack of attention on your surroundings lead to you not noticing one particular thing though: Keegan, who was sitting right across the table from you, was also spacing out. Not quite like you though, for his eyes were not fixed on some random object in the buzzling room, no, his eyes were staring right at yours. As you came back to your senses, looking down at your mug first and then back up, you noticed. He was staring, completely and utterly lost in your eyes, smiling like an idiot too at that.
