Liu paused to listen to the other proxy's breathing. They were on a long mission- sleeping in the back of their Ford to avoid expenses as they did Slenderman's dirty work.

The other proxy slept peacefully against the backseats of the car, head on Liu's lap. Liu looked out the window as he listened to the even breaths. They shifted slightly and Liu rested his hand in their hair.

The mix of even breathing and then gentle pattering of rain felt... So peaceful.
