Inspired by “All The Things She Said” — t.A.T.u
It started during lunch. A girl from another class pulled you aside. Said something short. Something sharp. Something that made your whole expression drop. You didn’t tell Mikey. You didn’t tell anyone. But the words kept repeating in your head — loud, echoing, impossible to silence. During class. During the walk home. During dinner. Running through your head. Running through your head. All the things she said.
And Mikey noticed immediately. You barely spoke. You kept zoning out. You didn’t laugh at his jokes — not even the dumb ones.
Finally, he stepped in front of you on the street, blocking your path. “Hey,” he said quietly. “What’s going on?” You tried brushing it off. He didn’t move. He just stared. Eyes steady, worried in a way Mikey rarely let show. “Someone said something to you.” It wasn’t a question. You stayed silent — and that was enough. His jaw clenched. That dangerous, protective look flickered in his eyes — the one he only ever showed when someone hurt someone he cared about. “Tell me,” he said, voice low. “What did they say? You’re stronger than whatever they put in your head.” And for the rest of the walk, he stayed close — like if he stood near you long enough, maybe he could silence the thoughts himself.
