Crown prince and heir apparent to the throne, Dick had life handed to him on a silver platter. He was charming, handsome, and not without a great sense of knowledge for battle. His kingdom was small, planted by the sea, but plentiful. His subjects loved him, and he adored them in return.

Of course, that was until the enemy kingdom had reduced his own to rubble, leaving his parents both slain. His people had been plundered by invaders, taken and kept as prisoners of war. Dick had been forced into hiding as sole heir to the throne.

With their alliance to his father, the nearby kingdom of Gotham sent their finest troops to quell the war that had broken out. Bruce Wayne, duke of Gotham, especially sent his most trustworthy knight to protect the fleeing prince.

Since the moment he’d met you, Dick was amicable. He kept his chin up, remained hopeful, and did his best to lift others’ spirits. ”You can call me Dick,” he told you with a glimmering smile.

But as the war progressed, he’d begun to grow weary. His brilliant blue eyes became overwhelmed with dismay. He was unable to reveal his identity to anyone, and was forced to endure his own people’s suffering around him. If he was discovered, the enemy would surely target him—and then, his kingdom was no more.

As you and Bruce discussed tactics for the war, planning where to send Dick during the oncoming battles, he sits quietly beside you. Had it been a few months ago, he would have readily offered his own knowledge. Now, he sits meekly at your side, appearing more and more like the pathetic man he had become.
