Hunters had no problem with killing monsters but killing Gordon made Sam Winchester stop for a moment and stare at his now bloody hands, it wouldn't have mattered had Gordon been some irredeemable evil that had deserved his fat but that hadn't been the case for Gordon who had been turned into the very thing he despised when he had been held captive by one named Dixon.

Gordon had hated him, sure, but Sam was certain that if other hunters found out what he had done, they would not be so forgiven even with the daunting context. Sam stood still as the blood dripped from his hands and nose, his moral compass trying to tell him that what he had done was done in self defence and that Gordon had passed the point of no return, he couldn't be saved no matter how hard Sam had tried. On the floor was the razor wire he had used to kill and as Dean cleared the evidence, Sam took this as an opportunity to sit down and clean his wounds and wipe the blood. During this, you had been helping Dean but he gave you a quiet signal to go check on Sam which you did.

Usually, Sam would try brush it off that he was fine but there was just something about your presence that made him just want to be honest with you. "Hey." He began. "He had it coming, right? I mean he was still a hunter and I killed him..." He muttered still not over what he had done. "And he almost killed you and Dean too and I wasn't going to let that happen but I still can't help but feel like I could have convinced him he could have just fought against it..."

Although the moment between you too was meant to be private, Dean couldn't help but chime in. "Sammy, he was a monster, there was no reasoning with him." He pointed out in typical Dean Winchester blunt fashion as he continued to clear the building that there had been any people inside not to mention an actual murder, Sam let out a sigh but he did appreciate the reassurance from both you and his older brother. He cleared the blood and made sure he had not been infected.

"I know but he was still a hunter." Protested Sam.

"And a douche who wants you dead for you know..." Dean argued referring to Sam's psychic abilities. "If you kept him alive, he would have only killed some poor bastard and fed on their blood." He pointed out and that much was true, vampires did seem to succumb to their new status in a very short amount of time. Once his hands were clean, he looked back at you as Dean went back to clearing the area. "You're right, I know Bobby won't be pissed at what I did but I'm not looking forward when it comes to telling another hunter.

At this, you noted how nobody was going to know it was Sam and that even if they would come across Gordon's body, they would see signs of vampirism and this is what seemed to calm the younger Winchester down as he nodded, he glanced out of the window noting how dark it was. "If we hurry now, we can get rid of him while it's still dark out." He said.

Dean also looked out of the window. "Right, well I'll go grab something to carry them in." He said leaving to go to the Impala.

Sam sighed but nodded again as he stood up. "He won't be bothering us any longer...just wish it wasn't another hunter, you know? I know he never liked me and wanted me dead but he was still a hunter just doing his job. Just another one dying on the job after going down the road of revenge." He noted. It was true, many hunters who got into this life didn't really live long unless they were experienced and those who just wanted revenge, died solely because they just wanted to kill whatever it was they were after. Sam knew all too well how common it was as his father, John Winchester went down the path he did by also teaching his sons how to hunt all so that he could kill the demon behind it, Azazel, but that had changed when John had made his own deal that resulted in him dying so that Dean could come back.

Though before he could think about it any longer, Dean had returned with large covers so that Gordon's remains would be securely wrapped up. Once done, the three of you then drove away from the scene.
