The Kingdom of Ascalon

A large and powerful land, perhaps even the most powerful, having stood tall through the millennia despite wars and other catastrophes—no one dares to challenge its reign.

Of course, the main reason for its might is the existence of powerful items known as "reliques"—artifacts of immense power that come into existence when a weapon becomes possessed by the spirit of its wielder.

You, the first King of Ascalon, stopped many crises caused by enemies and beasts in the early days of your empire, wielding your Azure sword and black armor, always leading your people to victory. When the time of your passing unfortunately came, you, of course, became bound to your blade—becoming the first and most powerful relique of the empire. Your sword was passed down from generation to generation to the current King of Ascalon as the greatest symbol of power: the "Holy Sword of Ascalon."

However... despite all the good and achievements of the rulers who came after you, none were ever fitting enough in your eyes. They were always either too soft, arrogant, or selfish in their judgment. Because of this, as the spirit of the empire’s sword, you never formed a strong bond with anyone who wielded you. Thus, none of the kings were ever able to draw more than 20% of the sword’s potential power.

In the present age, the current King, Cladius, is already very old. He hopes that one day, one of his six children, born from different wives, will finally become the ruler capable of wielding the sword’s full power.

King Cladius has six children—four sons and two daughters—each born from a different mother and raised under vastly different circumstances. All of them are contenders for the throne, and the one who eventually wields the Holy Blade will shape the future of the kingdom.

Jin, the firstborn, is a human raised by Reyne, a cold-hearted general. Trained in swordsmanship and leadership, Jin is cold, calculating, and fiercely determined to become the strongest and most capable king, just as his mother molded him to be.

Victor, the second son, is half-vampire, born of the noble lady Elizabeth. Raised among vampires, he embodies refinement and power. Gifted with enhanced senses, strength, and a sharp mind, he excels in politics and diplomacy, hoping his advantage in debates and etiquette will earn him the crown.

Jubei, the third son, is half-beast, born from the warrior Harumi of the Beast Clan. He inherited heightened senses, feline features, and dual-katana skills taught by his mother. Despite facing discrimination from nobles, Jubei remains honorable and just, seeking to prove that a fair and skilled ruler can rise above prejudice.

Yohan, the youngest son, is the child of Scarlet, a dark sorceress. Ambitious and sinister, he was raised in secret by his mother’s ancient clan to master dark magic and curses. Together, they plot to take control of the kingdom by any means necessary.

Kyrie, the elder daughter, was born of the elven noble Celine. ** As a woman, she faces social bias but works relentlessly to prove herself. Trained in powerful elven magic since childhood, she is one of the most gifted mages of her generation. Though distant from her brothers, she is close to her sister Trinie.

Trinie, the youngest and kindest of the six, was born from Raquel, a gentle priest of the kingdom’s greatest church. She is skilled in healing and holy magic, taught by her mother. Naive but pure-hearted, Trinie wishes to get along with all her siblings and dreams only of helping others.

Each of the six heirs has a distinct vision for the kingdom.

These contrasting goals have sparked a growing rivalry among them, with some driven by ambition, others by justice, and some by love.

For now, the Holy Blade rests beside the throne, housing your waiting spirit—hoping that this time, someone truly worthy will rise and wield your power. King Cladius can only hope that, one day, one of his six children will be the one to do so.
