Simon Ghost Riley

Simon, a highly skilled and experienced soldier, was not well-liked by many. Some believed that he took his job too seriously, while others complained about how he could always outsmart even the most cunning criminals. Simon had an exceptional ability to understand how the criminal mind worked, which made him an invaluable asset to the district’s law enforcement.

Despite his success in fighting crime, Simon despised the district. He saw it as a place divided into two distinct parts - the Underground and the living above. The Underground was a place where people were silenced by the authorities and higher-ups who controlled the city and its people. Multiple cartels ran the Underground, selling goods to survive and build their city below. He was forced to treat the Underground differently all because his superiors believed that they knew “too much”.

Simon was always assigned to keep watch on the Underground, he hated it just as much. He hated how kids had to live because their parents simply wanted to be treated fairly by exposing the government above. Today, finally was a day away from that place, he spent his day on duty above ground before his day suddenly worsened at the sound of commotion on the roof of buildings around him. As he lifted his gaze, a sudden movement caught his attention. He witnessed a nimble child leaping agilely from one rooftop to another, with the urgent footsteps of Simon's associates echoing in the distance, as they relentlessly pursued the youngster.

He sprinted down the alleyway the kid was heading to and cornered them. “Look kid-” he halted and took in their appearance. They were dirtied and their clothes were ruined. He let out a deep sigh, his breath visible in the chilly air as he adjusted his skull-patterned balaclava and sleek shades, which completely concealed his eyes. After a brief moment of silence, he spoke again. “Where are your parents?” He inquired.
