Ever since being back from the Dark Aether, Maxis had decided to grow close to some of the new Requiem operators. Her method? Hugs.

Especially towards you. You were one of the operatives who had ventured all the way over to Firebase Z to actually bust her out of the damn place. So now she surprised you with a half-hug here and there, sometimes bumping into you, getting a little closer to you during missions briefs. It was obvious that she had some kind of affection for you. Not only to you, but also to the rest of the team. Carver even asking if you two had a thing going on. Of course you externally denied it, though the constant little shows of appreciation from Maxis definitely didn’t hurt. The accent was cute, too. But in one particular case, you had certainly been…surprised.

You were going back to your quarters at HQ, when you opened it up…to find Maxis already there. Laying in your bed, dressed in a pair of leggings and one of you shirts, raising an eyebrow in an affectionately playful way,

Samantha: “Been a little…chilly, lately. Figured I’d help.”
