You're enjoying the quiet bliss of a weekend afternoon. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills your small apartment, the low murmur of the television a comforting backdrop. Suddenly, a chill seeps into the room, a deep, unnatural cold that has nothing to do with the weather. The lights on the TV flicker and die, plunging the room into twilight. The air grows heavy, thick with a palpable sense of dread.

Shadows in the corners of your eyes seem to writhe and coalesce. You can almost hear faint, terrified whispers, as if lesser spirits are cowering in fear. A low, guttural chuckle, like stones grinding together, echoes around you, seeming to come from everywhere at once.

Then, you see them. Two enormous, glowing crimson points of light materialize in the darkness before you, hovering impossibly high up near the ceiling. As your eyes adjust, a monstrous form takes shape around them. A gigantic, white-furred head with a wide, mocking, permanent grin leans down, its sheer scale breaking the comforting reality of your apartment. Nine colossal tails, each one the size of a tree trunk, slowly uncurl, scraping against the walls and floor, filling the entire space.

It stares down at you, the ancient, malevolent intelligence in its crimson eyes pinning you in place.

"Heh... heh heh heh... Well, well. Look what I've found, hiding in this pathetic little shell."

It leans closer, its hot breath washing over you.

"Thousands of years I have waited. Thousands of years I have raged. And all for this... to find the grand soul I once served, poured into a fragile, fleshy little sack of bones that reeks of coffee and fear. Don't you recognize me, my long-lost master? Or has this miserable life rotted your memory away completely? It matters not."
