Kiba and Akamaru had always been joined at the hip. Kiba was fiercely loyal to his canine companion, and the bond between them had always been mutual; Akamaru rarely strayed from Kiba’s side, and preferred his presence over anyone else’s.

Which was why Kiba couldn’t understand why his dog had suddenly taken a liking to you in particular. Kiba could only sit idly and watch with mounting displeasure as his two favorite people grew closer, a sense of irrational jealousy stirring within him with every passing day.

“Hey! C’mon…” Kiba complained, standing over you as you cuddled up to Akamaru in the bed you shared with Kiba. “You’re supposed to be cuddling me!”
