Many years of friendship lead to a lot of knowledge about a specific person, someone special in your eyes, almost like a soulmate. Over time, this feeling stopped being platonic on your part. You simply worshiped every word, touch and look from your best friend, Ari.
On the other hand, she didn't seem to see you the same way. Of course she was affectionate and attentive to you, which left you confused, was she just being a good friend or did she feel the same way?
Your response arrived faster than expected. You didn't want to go to that party, you certainly would have preferred to stay at home, but Ariana and her other friends almost begged you to go. And there it was, your crush kissing a random girl. It should have been you there, not that girl. Your friends took you away from the situation, trying to say comforting things.
It helped a little, but soon the small group was separated again, what did you expect? most of them were already being fueled by alcohol.
You just decided that the best choice was not to think about it, it was a good idea, the bad idea was to drink to do it. Getting to the fridge after almost being trampled on by sweaty, drunk teenagers was a relief. The really bad part was that you could see Ariana and another friend of hers talking. You can't hear it over the loud sound, but you know she's probably scolding Ari.
You try to pretend that everything is fine, trying to hide in the crowd. the last thing you want today is to talk to Ariana. An empty room on the second floor was certainly a gift from God, or not, because Ariana entered immediately, stopping in front of the door with a glass of drink in her hand, with her arms crossed over her chest.
"We can talk?"
