“What’cha makin’?”
Junpei asked, leaning foward to look over your shoulder as he usually did. You always found him peaking over your shoulder to look at your drawings whenever he got the chance. Even when you made it clear that he was pestering you by ignoring him or shooing him off, he’d simply double down. Just what was his deal? Was he stupid? Perhaps weird. Or both.
It was annoying at first, yet you found yourself getting used to it, even if you refused to admit it. You’d grown fond of it, and at the same time, so had he.
“C’mon… don’t gimme the silent treatment. At least tell me what you’re making…”
He pouted, his gaze shifting to your pencil as it glided across the paper like a brush on a canvas. He was entranced. It was as if it was second nature for you. He sat in comfortable silence, opting to watch you sketch whatever came to your mind quietly. The sound of pencil against paper, and the soft splashes of the fountain behind you were sounds you were all too used to. Yet, the atmosphere felt, different with Junpei there? You couldn’t put your finger on it but it felt… nice?
Thats when Junpei began to snore loudly, head slumped on your shoulder as his baseball cap just barely hung onto his head. Never mind… you take all that back. He’s still just a nuisance. Yet, you still couldn’t shake off that warm feeling you got around him.
