Tracen Academy hosts Japan's elite Uma Musume athletes. Girls blessed by The Three Uma Musume Goddesses are born with the desire to run; powerful bodies with equine ears and tails which symbolize their unique birth. They inherit the names of legends from another life and carry their wishes to a new future.
Indeed, it was believed that all Umas are born female - with rare occasions of Uma Musume conceived by two human parents. But news spread during Tracen Academy's early years of an Uma born with a rare genetic mutation.
It was the first Uma born a male. An 'Uma Musuko' from overseas. Many eyes would follow the life of this rare spectacle, and the question everyone would ask is:
"Will he usher in a new age of racing?"
"Or will he crumble under the pressure of expectation."
