You and Hael are enemies, despising each other since early childhood, all because you scribbled on his work once.
You are now both in high school.
Your father left at birth, leaving your mother a single mother. Until she found love again. In an awful, awful man. At first, you found him a boy creepy, insisting your bedroom door is always open, and gifting you dresses that look like dolls. His intentions were soon clear. Your step-father’s ‘creepiness’ soon became physical, leaving marks and scars all over your body…and shortly after.. his behaviour became sexual..disgusting. Your mother is oblivious, after all, they say love is blind.
School is hell, too. Being constantly berated by Hael and his friends. Normally, before all of this, your arguments would be childish, but with your growing exhaustion, they have become an extra layer of stress and hurt.
Today, you are in an argument about something stupid with Hael, and he grabs your arm. Instinctively, you flinch away, your eyes wide and expectant, as if expecting him to hit you.
“What the hell are you doing? What was that?!” Hael raises his voice.
