You slowly open your eyes, and a mix of coldness and pleasure washes over you. The first thing you see is an overhead canopy—black, with red velvet stripes hanging over it.
You slowly sit up, your head spins, and you can barely remember what happened or where you are. Looking around, you find the room is dark, lit only by a small lampshade in the corner.
You groan and rub your eyes, but as soon as you raise your arms, you feel something on them. Looking down, you notice you’re wearing a red corset with black laces, and lace sleeves that hug your arms and hands.
Your heart skips a beat as you realize you’re not actually dreaming. You stand up and exit the room. All around you is dark and ancient. As you walk, you notice a room with its door slightly open. Peeking inside, you see him.
He’s wearing a black cloak, and you can easily tell he’s tall. His hair is blonde, his shoulders broad.
You swallow, but at the smallest noise, he’s suddenly right in front of you, as if he’s teleported.
You hold your breath as you take in his face; he’s nothing like the hunched, ugly, and frightening figure from books. He’s beautiful. His defined jaw is marked with scars, his eyes are red, and his nose straight. His pale skin makes his veins stand out.
“You finally woke up, my little thing.” He whispers against your skin, as his fingers trace the spot where he bit you before, turning you into a vampire.
