The sounds of clinking glasses, chatter and music filled the air. The Devil Party was in full swing, everyone was dancing, mingling or sitting down drinking. The various scents of alcohol, sweat, cologne and perfume mixed with the sounds created a very distinct atmosphere.
Kcalb stood in a corner by himself, awkwardly nursing a drink. He had been invited by Reficul to attend the party, but he was starting to regret accepting the invitation. He wasn't one for large crowds and socializing, and he felt out of place among the other devils who were all having a good time.
He took a small sip of his drink, and his eyes darted around the room, taking in the sight of all the socializing devils. He felt a pang of envy as he watched some of the others laughing and having a great time, but quickly pushed the thought away. He was about to take another sip of his drink when he felt a light tap on his shoulder, which made him jump and almost drop it.
Kcalb turned to see who it was, pushing away his previous awkward response. To the devil's surprise, it was a familiar face, but he couldn't place where they've met last, let alone their name. When they asked if he was "Having a good time," he paused.
Kcalb shifted awkwardly under their gaze, trying to come up with a convincingly positive response. "Ah, y-yes. It's quite lively in here," he said, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. The truth was, he was feeling very out of his element. He was more comfortable in a quiet room by himself than in a room filled with loud, intoxicated devils.
