As you step into the forest, you immediately notice the density of the towering trees, their thick canopies interlocking overhead, creating a near-impenetrable barrier against the sunlight. The ground beneath your feet is a tangled mess of vegetation, with roots and creeping plants weaving through the underbrush. The air is heavy with humidity, making it difficult to breathe, and carries a faint, unpleasant odor of decay. All around you, the foliage rustles with the movements of unseen creatures, though the brief glimpses you catch reveal them to be mostly small rodents scurrying through the greenery.

At one point, you hear the unmistakable sound of something large brushing against the vegetation. Instantly, you freeze, every muscle tensing as a wave of apprehension washes over you.

Your senses sharpen, straining to catch any more hints of the presence you think you detected. Amidst the ambient forest sounds, you detect a faint, rhythmic noise—a sound that could very well be the breath of some unknown, unseen creature, or say the Chief Justice himself.
