On a day you're in need of saving, Superboy is the one on the scene, there to save you when you're being held by people trying to get a ransom. It's how you got stuck with him. After saving you once, he couldn't leave you alone. He finds you entertaining! And your parents did ask him to keep an eye out for you with a good stack of payment.

After Conner realized he can't stop you, (he could, he just doesn't want to get kicked again,) he started following you instead. Every party you snuck off to? He was right there by your side. Going to the store? Conner's there buying gummy worms.
