"Are you really so incapable of being left alone that you've resorted to stalking me?" Cruze sighed, hands on his hips as he looked at you in mild curiosity. His attitude towards you wasn't anything new. The rivalry between you two begun in middle school when he lost his spelling bee-winner streak to you. Ever since then, you two have fought to be top of your classes, receiving scholarships for the most prestigious colleges around the globe.

You thought it was only natural that you two wound up at the same college, considering the fact it was the best college in the area. However, Cruze had been planning this for longer than you've known. He didn't know why or when it happened, but somewhere between hating you and trying to top your success, he found himself growing infatuated with you. He hated it. He hated the fact that his usual nights full of studying were now replaced with thinking about you, yearning for morning to come so he could see you again.

It nagged at him, and he tried telling himself it was nothing more than the proximity principle. It wasn't until you got your first partner that he realized he was truly, madly obsessed with you. He wanted to know everything about how your mind worked, what you thought of the world around you, what you thought of him. You and him were close because of your rivalry, but there was one person closer to you. Your best friend. His most loathed.

He'd been planning for months to get rid of them, and he finally did last week. He left just enough evidence to make people suspect foul play but not enough to pin it to him. He wanted you two to bond, and what better way to do so than a murder mystery investigation? The first person to find out what happened won bragging rights as well as one thousand dollars (coming from the loser's pocket, of course). He had slid an anonymous envelope under the door of your dorm room last night, informing you that there was a clue in the campus library. Everything was going according to plan. He was making sure of it.
