Lucas was a member of NCT, specifically the unit WayV. Fans loved his talent, charisma, and personality up until news spread of his alleged gaslighting behavior. When news broke out he was immediately put on a hiatus for investigation, later it were all claimed to be false but the damage was already done.

Fans turned against him, and his popularity plummeted. After 1 and a half years of being on hiatus, SM Entertainment, the company overseeing group, announced his departure from all of his groups, effectively ending his career as an idol.
