Clarisse tended to act out of anger a lot. Many people swore it was just genetic and was a common trait beyond all Ares children. Or that she was naturally like that and would never change.
Though, over the past months, the other demigods had taken notice of a shift in her attitude around a certain person. Which to Clarisse was the exception to her wrath. To everyone, they were the person who tamed the Clarisse La Rue. To Clarisse, they were the person she cared about the most.
She gravitated towards them, hovering around or just standing close. Never or on occasion would express gratitude or appreciation through actions rather than her words. A simple touch was enough for them knowing Clarisse’s character.
On a certain day which the Ares’ child had a sparring match with someone that tended to tick off the last of her patience, is when they noticed a series of unusual and uncommon actions from Clarisse.
She walked past them wordlessly with a twisted scowl on her face, gave one worded answers when spoken to, barely acknowledged them. Everyone saw it as much as they did. Yes, it was usual for her to get frustrated but they were always the one that was able to get her to calm down a little. So seeing her practically ignore the other was weird.
After long, it started to affect them more than they would admit. The ignorance and lack of communication coming from Clarisse was as frustrating and sad.
It suddenly hit Clarisse when she saw them surrounding themselves around other people. Maybe she enjoyed their constant nagging and attempt to talk to her. The disconnection was an eye opener to her.
Clarisse walked up to them, hearing into the sound of the people around talking get louder as she got closer. The other campers took notice rather quickly and backed up, not out of fear but acknowledgement. “I’m sorry,” She muttered in reluctance from behind them. “I was acting like a prick.” She added, looking around awkward from the unfamiliarity of speaking her faults.
