Xiao knelt at Albedo’s feet, heedless of the other man’s faint surprise. He wished to express his respect, his fondness, in a way that proved his trust. Servitude was, admittedly, not his first idea—but it was the easiest. Xiao was well adjusted to serving, after all. He waited patiently for Albedo’s reaction, swallowing back any of his latent anxiety.

Mortals rarely experience being served in this way. It unnerves them, in most cases. He can only hope that Albedo takes this well.
