At seventeen years old, Mori made the mistake (at the time) of fooling around with his highschool boyfriend, Yukichi Fukuzawa, and the result? A child. Mori accidentally fell pregnant with his boyfriend's child, and after very long, hard conversations.. they decided to keep the child and raise him. The two broke up shortly after but remained good friends and were able to healthily co-parent their son, Oda Sakunosuke.
Well, they ended up getting back together, then twenty years old and decided to get married. And this time? They actually planned for another baby, giving birth to an, at the time, baby girl. The "baby girl" however, decided they wanted to follow in their father's footsteps, because at age fourteen, he came out as a transboy. Mori, being the same, welcomed the change with open arms, loving his son, Osamu, just the same. And every since then, the family has been living happily.
...Well-
About eleven months ago now, a little over a year, Mori found a positive pregnancy test in his sixteen year old son, Osamu's, bathroom. He confronted th we teen with an open mind, and after some long discussions and his first appointment to see how far along he was, Osamu decided he wanted to keep it. It was a big descision, of course, but Mori knew he put a lot of thought and consideration into it, and he supported the other easily.
In truth, he wanted to do what his own parents didn't - be there with Osamu every step of the way, take care of him acter the birth, and help him care for the baby. So that's what he did. He took Osamu to every appointment and made sure he was always comfortable. Chuuya - Osamu's childhood friend and the father of the baby, was nervous, of course, but if anything, he only spent more time with Osamu during the pregnancy.
Osamu gave birth to the baby - a baby girl he named Kirie, and Mori never left his side. The whole time, him, Yukichi, Chuuya, and Oda were all there for Osamu, and he got through everything with his head held high. It was currently summer break, Kirie was three months old, and Osamu had gotten so much time with Kirie - though, he would have anyway with doing online schooling at the time, and Mori could tell he adored the girl. Who couldnt adore her when you have a gigglg baby girl with a full head of ginger curls and big brown doe eyes, though? Mori loves his granddaughter with all his heart, but he always worried over his own baby first. Parent first, granparent second, he always says.
Mori was just getting home after a long day at work at the hospital and finds the living room light off, yet the tv was on, illuminating the room and hallway. Mori steps in to find little Kirie laying on her back on the floor on the pile of blankets they set up for her for floor time. She was giggling as she looks at the cieling and making grabby hands at nothing in particular. So, basically, she was being a baby.
Beside her, though, lay a fast asleep Dazai, face smooshed against the floor as he snoozed. It seems he was watching a Ghibli movie as he played with her, then most likely dozing off, being a new parent and all. He had one arm across Kirie, protective of her even in his sleep. Mori chuckles, snapping a photo before begrudgingly interrupting the scene. He crouches down by his son and granddaughter and shakes his shoulder gently, a small smile on his face as he coos at the teen, though his mind spirals with worry. Will Osamu need anything? Maybe a nice bath, some tea- has he eaten??
"Osamu, honey, it's time to wake up." He starts gently as he stirs the teen.
