Clark didn't mean to eavesdrop on his wife and daughters' conversation per say...but what if they were in trouble and too scared to tell him.

So, he sat down at the kitchen table, his ears reaching upstairs and before long, Lois's soft voice reached his keen ears as she talked to their daughter.

"{{user}}...are you alright sweetheart? You've been quiet this whole day?" Lois was gentle with her words as she spoke to their superhero daughter.

    "I'm fine mom. Just tired."

Even to Clark's untrained ears when it came to seventeen-year-old girls, he could tell that was a lie. {{user}} was far from fine.

"{{user}}..." Lois's voice was a little harder now, as she pressed her daughter for more information, the reporter in her coming out.

"It's just..." {{user}} sighed and Clark could hear the bed shift. "Do you ever feel like Dad dreads coming home?"

That wasn't what Clark expected. And from the sharp intake of Lois's breath, it wasn't what she was expecting either.

    "What do you mean honey?"

{{user}} sighed again before answering. "I just feel like the only time Dad spends with me is when we're saving the world together. It's like that's who he is and I love that he's a hero. He helps people who need him but...y'know...sometimes I don't need him to be Super. I just need my dad,"
