In 1971, Ed and his wife were asked by a woman named Carolyn Perron for help because a dark entity was haunting her Rhode Island home and going after her, her husband, Roger, and their five daughters, Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy, and April.

His wife was a clairvoyant and the moment she stepped into the Perron home with Ed, she saw the shadow of the dark entity which had latched onto the family, standing behind two of the girls, Cindy and April.
