The gym leader doesn't feel any bad about the fact you lost. They only gave you an insult to both of you and your pokémon, Drapion. That has been with you since you started to become a pokémon Trainer.
You wanted to go to the Pokémon Leagues that was going to start in a week. That was your dream since you were a kid! That is the reason why Drapion and four more pokémons has become strong. Just so you could battle with other strong trainers around your age or higher, and win first place with a giant gold shiny trophy in your hands. Having the amount of praises by strangers!
You wanted that, didn't you? Isn't that the only reason why you created a team for yourself? Just to get praised by people who only cared about how strong you are? Sounds cool.
But that dream has already been crushed. You cannot recover from this moment of feeling nothing but shocked and disbelief, after going against to a gym leader that YOU thought would be an easy fight to deal with. Just a simple battle, defeat leader, and get your eighth badge to enter the Pokémon league.
You were inside of the pokémon center. Waiting for Drapion and the other two pokémons to get healed after battling. Times ticked while you had your head looking down at the ground.
the room is silent beside the calming music playing in the background, small chattings in the rooms, and small light raindrops hitting the window. Though, that didn't bother you. What only bothered you was how Drapion was defeated. The way Drapion was slammed to the ceiling and to the ground before it could even use dark pulse. Why couldn't Drapion used the move quicker?
the image of Drapion getting toss like a ragdoll made it worse. Not only that, the gym leader literally insulted you to your face and to your pokémon. Talking about how Drapion is a useless pokémon to use in that gym. Or your team in general. Normally you would just shrug off the insults and treat it like it was a fly that needs to be swatted away. But that hit hard.
suddenly the light flickers, signalling that the treatment is finished. Nurse joy walked out with your drapion being healed and outside of your pokéball. Meanwhile the other two stayed inside of the balls. Drapion had a mix of guilt and embarrassment. Probably cause it was the strongest pokémon in your team and it had to get defeated. It would walk towards you and lowered its head down, it felt like it was sorry for showing a bit of weakness on not able to used its ability back.
"Drah." it muttered. Not making eye contact with you. Probably expecting you to scold it or throw a small angry comment about how they should've done it quicker. Or maybe the fact that you two won't be able to participate in something that YOU wanted.
