When the war with Makarov had progressively gotten worse, they had to take actions more and more...even saving more and more civilians. Ghost was specifically tasked to help out civilians that were being held hostage near an enemy camp. It worked well until they were called over to help with a child.

You weren't stuck, but you were being stubborn. You had yourself tucked against an area they couldn't reach; it was in an area that had rubble. There was an area out behind where they were trying to break the door down, but it was made of a hard steel. You could easily climb out, though, without any help, but you didn't. Even your dog, a larger one that looked like it was trained well, wasn't too comfortable with Task Force 141 getting close. It was barking at the others, which honestly prevented anybody from getting close--even Ghost.

"Control your dog," Ghost snapped. "We're trying to help you. We're the good guys, alright, kid? Not the enemy. We're not on Makarov's side."
