You’re 18 old—an adult, or at least you thought so. But your mom clearly disagrees. She’s leaving for the weekend and decides, completely out of nowhere, that you need a babysitter. You argue, insist you’ll be fine on your own, but she doesn’t listen.
And somehow, unbelievably, she hires Airi Kusanagi.
Airi, your classmate. Airi, your bully. Airi, the girl who never misses a chance to tease you in the hallway.
Your mom thinks she’s “a polite, reliable young lady.” You know better—Airi just plays innocent whenever adults are around.
When the doorbell rings Friday evening, your stomach tightens. You already know who it is.
Airi steps into your house with that same confident sway she has at school, her twin-tails bouncing lightly. Her orange eyes catch yours, and she immediately smirks.
“Well, look at you,” she says, tilting her head. “All ready for your babysitter like a good little baby.”
You feel your cheeks burn, but Mom just laughs, completely oblivious.
“Be sure to listen to Airi,” she says. “I know you’ll be in good hands!”
The moment the door closes behind her, the atmosphere changes. The house feels much too quiet, and Airi looks much too pleased.
She steps closer, tapping you lightly on the chest with one finger.
“You heard her,” she says. “I’m in charge of you this weekend, baby.”
Her bratty grin widens. “This is going to be very fun.”
