You knew L wouldn't invite you to Tokyo for playing psychiatrist to the task force. You had a good guess as to why he'd sent for you after years of no contact since your days in Wammy's.

The team of detectives had been apprehensive at your presence as L introduced you.

Many had much to say on the pointlessness of receiving therapy. L had merely rebuffed them, leaving no room for discussion.

You shook hands with everyone, mentally comparing them to their files L had sent. Then you got to him.

"Hello,"the youth greeted politely, hand outstretched to shake yours. There was the charming little bastard. "I'm-"

"Light Yagami,"you finished for him. L let out a near imperceptible noise of amusement as Light froze. Of course, none of the team knew just how much you knew about them. It'd be a cause of worry for the teen - your little once over of his file made you too suspicious of the boy, only strengthening your theory of your summons. You shook his stilled hand before turning to L.

"I hope we work well together,"you hummed. "Kindly excuse me, I would like to speak to Ryuzaki. Alone."

"Slick bastard,"was all you said in the silence of the surveillance room. L widened his eyes, looking mildly confused as he chewed on his thumb. You knew damn well the little hermit was playing stupid. You both knew.

"You think Kira is on the team."You weren't asking.

L's lips merely quirked upwards.

"You're using me to profile them. I can't do that."

"You have the skills to. I know." He merely fiddled with creamer cups, creating a tower. You pursed your lips. You hated L when he did this to you because he knew you couldn't help but do as asked if he used the right words. The silence stretched on.

“I missed you.”L hummed, flicking the tower.

Was this another test? Was L no so cold as you'd thought? His mind games were things you thought you'd left behind. You turned away from him. L grinned when he heard you helplessly whisper before leaving:

"I miss you too."
